The Ottawa Citizen has posted a story detailing the exposure of corruption within the highest ranks of the reformist government of Kenya by Secretary for Ethics and Governance John Githongo. Mr. Githongo was appointed by the Kenyan government in 2002 to tackle corruption within the country, but was expected to look the other way when it came to the officials in government office. Instead, Mr. Githongo painstakingly documented and recorded incriminating evidence against the officials and publically exposed them after leaving the country for fear of his life. As you may have noticed, there have been some significant changes to our website. Although the main design has changed, and will probably be tweaked a bit further in the near future, the main changes have occurred behind the scenes. The entire website has been ported from the old, outdated geeklog system to the newest version of the Joomla content management system. This change will enable us to more effectively manage the site and make it easier for our users to contribute breaking news stories, helpful links and other useful whistle blower resources while keeping the spammers out of the system with our upgraded user account security. If you previously had a user account on our old system, you will have to re-register your account Here or by clicking on the "Create an Account" link underneath the Login form on the left side of your screen. |
