Few whistleblowers are rewarded, however, ignoring a whistleblower can have devastating effects. Nobody exemplifies our home page opening statement as does Allan Cutler.
Here is an exerpt from a transcript of a CBC talk show, that illustrates the point!

The auditor general Sheila Fraser got the credits for the expose'. However it was Allan Cutler who did the initial filing of a complaint with his superiors, complied documentation and initiated the expose'

CBC's "The Current": April 18, 2005

For 20 years, Allan Cutler, a veteran civil servant, played by the rules and believed in what he was doing. Then in 1994 he found himself with a new boss, a man named Chuck Guite. And in a matter of a year-and-a-half, he also found himself slapped with a new title – that of a whistleblower

Over the last few weeks, we've heard some pretty shocking testimony from the Canadian federal government Gomery Inquiry. But it was just over a year ago that the country first caught a whiff of something rotten.

Last February, Canada's Auditor General Sheila Fraser dropped a bombshell. Over a four-year period, $100 million in taxpayers' money had been squandered through the ill-conceived federal sponsorship program. Today, most of us know the details surrounding the sponsorship scandal. But many of us don't know that a man named Allan Cutler "blew the whistle" about overspending for government advertising before the sponsorship program was even born ... and years before Sheila Fraser began delving into the problem.

The political fallout from this expose' continues to hamstring the ruling Liberal Party of Canada and Government functionality.
